Lucy Faye Hendrix Carter

Lucy Faye Hendrix Carter, 101, of Lexington, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at her home.

Lucy was born on November 25, 1923, in Davie County, North Carolina to the late Eddie N. and Annie Sidden Hendrix.  She was a member of Fork Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  She loved working in her yard and on her flowers.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, John (J.B.) Carter, who passed away in 2016, sisters; Mary Frances Hendrix, Evelyn Fishel, Edith Long, Vernie Hendrix, Sarah Smith, and Joyce Barney, brothers; Robert Hendrix and Vance Hendrix.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kathy Deese and son-in-law David Deese, grandchildren Angela Young (Josh) and Christopher Deese.  Also surviving are her sister Ann Everhart, sisters-in-law; Elizabeth Hendrix, Maxine Hendrix, Dolly Carter Lemly, brothers-in-law Robert Smith, Jimmy Barney (Shirley) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, 3140 US Highway 64 East in Mocksville, NC with the Rev. Robert Garrett officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
