Yolande Walker Hendrix, 59, of George Surratt Road, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Wesleyan Church, Old N.C. Highway 150, Winston-Salem, by the Rev. Dale Johnson. Mrs. Hendrix was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Fort Knox, Ky., to Mitchell Cecil Walker and Nina Florence Lominac Walker. Mrs. Hendrix was a retired employee of Dixie Furniture and attended Agape Church in Clemmons. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Coy Hendrix; two daughters, Nancy Louise Blackburn and Kimberly Lenora Jean Hubbard; one sister, Nancy Louise Lay; and one granddaughter. Surviving are one son, Ronald W. Blackburn of Winston-Salem; one daughter, Stacey Lynn Hamilton of Lexington; two brothers, Mitchell C. Walker Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Winston-Salem and Ronald Stanley of Virginia Beach, Va.; and six grandsons. Piedmont Funeral Home is serving the family.
