W.J. "Bill" Lookabill

Willie Jacob “Bill” Lookabill, 92, of S. NC Highway 150, died Tuesday, December 23 in Lexington Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Howard Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery. Mr. Lookabill was born in Davidson County, NC on October 17, 1916, to Jacob William Lookabill and Troy Daniel Lookabill. He was a retired employee of Parkdale Mills. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J. Wilbur Lookabill and his sister, Virgie Carrick. Mr. Lookabill is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ola Smith Lookabill of Lexington, his daughter, S. Sidney Beeson of Morningside, MD, his son, W.H. “Bill” Lookabill and his wife, Linda of Lexington. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Michael Lookabill and his wife Deirdre, Julia Harris and her husband Kevin all of Lexington, Carrie Beeson of Owings, MD, and his great grandchildren, Cody Harris, Zeb Harris, Hollie Harris, Lukas Lookabill, and Korina Lookabill.. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service in Vanderford Hall, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and other times in their respective homes. The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Lookabill’s memory may be sent to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4299 S. NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295
