HEADING: Willie Mahala Willie"Sonny" Mahala 68 of Lexington, NC died Sunday October 16,2011 at his residence A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Forest hill memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00PM prior to the service. Mr. Mahala was born July 7,1943 in Davidson County to Thomas Gray Mahala and Viola Mae Tysinger Mahala. He was a truck driver for General motors Lines. Preceding him in death was a son,Darryl lee Mahala, two brothers, Henry Oliver Mahala,billy Joe Mahala and a sister, Edna Mae Grubb. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Crotts Mahala of the home,two sons, James Gregory Mahala and wife mitzi, Jay Heath Mahala and wife,angela both of Lexington; a daughter Lisa Mahala Dalton of Rock Hill,S.C.;four grandchildren, Jason,Krystal, Tylere,Nathan, four great grandchildren , three brothers,Jimmy Mahala,Ronnie Mahala both of Lexington, Richard Mahala of Sneads Ferry,NC and a sister,Virginia Mahala of Thomasville.
