Willie Mae Beck Grubb, 83 of S. Hwy 150, Lexington, died Monday, October 26, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Myrtle Beach, SC. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 30, 2009 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Lexington, NC, with Rev. Howard Baker and Rev. Shay Gaillard officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Grubb was born April 10, 1926 in Davidson County to Thomas Lindsay Beck and Mary Elizabeth Snider Beck. She was a former employee of Norman’s of Salisbury and a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She was preceded by 4 brothers, George Frank Beck, Claude Beck, Fred Beck, Arthur “John” Beck, and two sisters, Tessie Beck Michael and Minnie Beck Carter. Surviving are husband, H Leo Grubb of the home; two sons, Tom Grubb and wife, Elaine of Fayetteville, Joe Grubb and wife, Wanda of Lexington, a daughter, Teresa Lynch and husband, Rivers of Myrtle Beach, SC; 5 grandchildren; Tara Lynch Gaillard (Shay) of Charleston, SC, Te-Anne Lynch Cahill (John) of Conway, SC, Tai Elizabeth Lynch of Charleston, SC, Taylor Lynch Jeffcoat (Brandon) of Columbia, SC, and Justin Daniel Grubb of Nashville, Tennessee; 10 great-children: Ann Claire Gaillard, Mary Foster Gaillard, Eliza Gaillard, Cate Gaillard, John Edward Cahill, III, Rivers Beck Cahill, Nolan McGahan Cahill, Foster Flynn Cahill, Caleb Thomas Cahill, and Braydon Foster Jeffcoat; brother, Charlie L. Beck of Lexington; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Pless Hall, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
