William Carlton Rickard

Mr. William Carlton Rickard, 80, of Boones Cave Road died Monday, January 18, 2021 at his home. A graveside service will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at Forest Hill Memorial Park conducted by the Revs. Randy Foster and Joe Rose. Mr. Rickard will lie in state at Piedmont Funeral Home Wednesday from 2-5 PM. The family will not be present at this time, and Covid-19 protocols are suggested at all services. Mr. Rickard was born in Davidson County July 27, 1940 to the late Otis Graham and Ethel Beck Rickard. He was a member of Tyro United Methodist Church. He retired after over 30 years in the furniture industry. He loved farming, camping, fishing, and activities with his grandchildren, and was an avid Duke fan. He was predeceased by a brother, Ira Lewis Rickard. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Washburn Rickard of the home; sons Tony Rickard (Vicky), Scott Rickard, Chris Rickard, and Michael Everhart (Michelle) all of Lexington; daughters, Tina Sheets (Joe) of Statesville, Jeanie Godfrey (Phillip) of Lexington, and Stacy Rose (Joe) of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are sisters Faye Eller and Libby Rogers of Lexington; grandchildren, Joey Rickard (Angel), Jodi Rickard, Corie Odden (Mike), Matt Sheets (Lacy), Samatha Rickard, Ethan Rickard, Sonny Rickard, Nicholas Godfrey, Nathan Godfrey, Walker Rose, Lyndsay Rose, Emily Parks, Jessica Rickard, and Christian Rickard; and great-grandchildren Jerzie Brayley, Joey Brayley, Jaedyn Hartsell, Abby Rickard, Olivia Odden, Beau Sheets, Aiden Sheets, Sage Godfrey, and Kali Norris.
