Lexington; Willard Capus Fleming, 88, a resident of Estates Drive, died Monday, April 9, 2007 at his residence. Funeral Services will be conducted 2pm Thursday, from the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Glenn Sanford and Rev. Terry Coates officiating, with burial to follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Fleming was born July 16, 1918 in Mecklenburg County, NC to the late Henry Capus Fleming and Pearl Bowman Fleming, he retired from the Dry Cleaning Business after 38 years of service, having worked for Friendly Dry Cleaners B& B Laundry, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were, a daughter Donna Leigh Fleming, two sisters, Elsie Latham and Marie Fleming, and a half brother, Fred Griggs. Surviving are: three daughters Marie Childress, Rhonda Varker, and her husband Joe, and Cheryl Morris, and her husband, Buddy all of Lexington; one son, Kenny Fleming, and his wife, LaVonda of Lexington; a brother, H. C. Fleming of Lexington. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home of the son, Kenny Fleming, 2814 West Center Street Ext. Lexington, NC.
