Walter Dermont Giles

Mr. Walter Dermont Giles, 70, of Giles Road died Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where he was a member. Mr. Giles was born in Davidson County November 5, 1949 to the late Walter Jefferson and Ruth Leonard Giles. He had retired from Walmart Corporation and Lexington Furniture. He was predeceased by a son Paul Marshall, brothers Billy and Alfred Giles, and sister Emma Irene Giles. Surviving are his wife, and “little ‘ole lady from the mountains, ” Bonnie Lou Watson Giles of the home; sons Walter Dermont Giles, Jr. (Bobbi), Nicholas Adam Giles all of Lexington, and David Watson (Pamela) of Herndon, Va.; daughter Betty Albertine Giles of Lexington; brother Bobby Giles (Audrey) of Archdale; and sister Sarah Frances Copple of Efland. Also surviving are grandchildren Thomas Caudle, Brittiany Wilson (Ryan), Tyler Crotts, Tan Giles, Emily Giles, and Audrey Giles; great-grandchildren Skylynn Wilson and Noah Wilson; honorary grandchildren Walker and Malan Fritts; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292, or to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4299 South NC Hwy. 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
