Vivian Deal Barnette Morphis, 84, of Choyce St., Lexington, died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Lexington Health Care. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 4, 2006, at North Lexington Baptist Church by Dr. Robert Floyd. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Morphis was born August 12, 1921 in Rowan County to the late Curtis Deal and Dora Honbaier Deal Greene. She retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries, and was a member of North Lexington Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew Richard Barnette, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Welborn “J.W.” Morphis, Jr., her daughter, Sylva Presley and husband Steve of Lexington; her sons, Andrew Richard Barnette, Jr. and wife Judy of Greenville, N.C. , Creighton Curtis Barnette, and wife Teresa of Lenoir, Ricky Barnette and Leigh Johnson, of Lexington, and Garry Barnette and wife, Helen, also of Lexington, 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday at PIEDMONT FUNERAL HOME and other times at the home of the son, 500 Rochelle Drive, Lexington Memorials may be made to Kate B.
