Virginia Harmon Smith

Virginia Victoria Harmon Smith,79, of Derfmar Road died Saturday November 16, 2013 in Morganton. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Lighthouse Baptist Church, where she was a member with Pastor Avery Varnadore and Jim Bates officiating. Services will conclude at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Family will receive friends fron 12:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Smith was born in Watauga County on April 9, 1934 to the late Howard Troy Harmon and Doyce Mae Anderson Harmon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Ray Smith. Surviving are daughters, Nina Foster and husband William of Thomasville; Sharon Richardson of the home; Janet Pickard and husband William of Morganton and Teresa Schiavoni and husband Peter of Cramerton, NC; brother, Cecil Harmon of Blowing Rock, NC; sister, Mayme Lois smith of Knoxville,Tn; Seven Grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
