Violet Lee Bivens

Violet Lee Monkcus Norman Bivens, 75, of Accordius of Lexington went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the nursing home. A funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Ken Norman. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. Mrs. Bivens will lie in state at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-5 PM. The family will not be present at this time, and Covid-19 protocols must be followed at all services. Violet was born November 26, 1945 in Davidson County to the late Nick and Margaret Marion Monkcus. She was a retired inspector for Jeanette Fashions and attended Heaven’s Gate Full Gospel Church. Preceding her in death were her daughter Margaret Christine Norman Bailey; brothers William “Buddy” Cole and Jimmy Cole; and sister Mary Belle Richard. Surviving are sons Henry Martin Bivens, II (Misty) of Thomasville, and Matthew Marcus Bivens (Teresa) of Lexington; daughter Linda Norman Bivens (Lawrence) of Lexington; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and son-in-law Randy Bailey.
