Viola Tussey

Viola Victoria Beanblossom Tussey, 94 died, June 2, 2011 at Abbotts Creek Care & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Second Reformed United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Joe Coltrane officiating. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Tussey was born November 28, 1916 in Davidson County to the late James Franklin Beanblossom and Dora Bell Cross Beanblossom. She was a homemaker and member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ. Her husband, Baxter Ray Tussey, preceded her in death in 1989; as well as her daughter, Peggy Beck; her sisters, Myrtle Hedrick, and Troy Beanblossom; and her brother Doyle Beanblossom. Mrs. Tussey is survived by her daughter, Betty Wright and her husband, Paul, of Lexington; her grandchildren, Paula Bailey and her husband, Terry, Keith Wright and his wife, Kelly, and Michelle Wright and her husband, Benji; her great-grandchildren, Brett Bailey, Megan Bailey, Katie Hartley and husband, Jason, Abby Adamson and her husband, Tyler; her great great-grandchildren, Ava Jane Hartley and Annabelle Hartley. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home and other time at home. Memorials may be made to the Odell Leonard Scholarship Fund, c/o Second Reformed United Church of Christ, 330 N. Church St., Lexington NC 27292.
