Ultra Snider Badgett

Ultra Snider Badgett, age 93, a resident of Sowers Road, Linwood, died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will conducted 2:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2007 at the Pine Primitive Baptist Church where she was a active member, with the Elder John Draper and Elder David Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Badgett was born in Davidson County, NC on September 17, 1913 to the late Robert Snider and Sarah Jane Williams Snider. While in school, she had perfect attendance for all twelve years. She was a former employee with Norman’s of Salisbury, Becky Hinkle Cloth Shop, where she designed, made and hung draperies, and had taught sewing at Davidson County Community College. She enjoyed many crafts, making and designing them. At her church, she had assisted with the cemetery fund and the Altar flowers. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her first husband, Staley Barnhardt Sowers in 1962, a son, John Robert Sowers in 1980, and his wife, Betty Wilson Sowers in 2005, two sisters, Ruby Snider, and Docia Garner, and two brothers, R.G. Snider, and Marvin Snider. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Gernie Badgett of the home; four daughters, Annie Lee Freeman and her husband L.A. Freeman, Jr., of Lexington, Nancy Carol Wells and her husband, Robert Jerry Wells, Phyllis Sowers, and Neplus Sylvia Hall and her husband, Ken Hall all of Linwood; a brother, Archie Lowe Snider and his wife, Eloise of Linwood;, two sisters, Sylvia Snider, and Doris King both of Linwood. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM, at Pine Primitive Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence. The family asks in Lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to Pine Primitive Baptist Church, South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
