Thomas “Tom” Patrick Butler, 66, a resident of Lexington and formerly of Lawrence, NJ and Bronx, NY, died June 23, 2009, in Lexington Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Memorial Service will be conducted at l:00 P.M. Saturday, June 27, at AmVets Post 13. He was retired from Lilly Industries and formerly employed for 10 years with Notre Dame High School. Mr. Butler had served in the US Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post 8 and AmVets Post 13. Mr. Butler was born March 6, 1943 in Manhattan County, NY, to Peter Butler and Margaret Mullens Butler. Survivers are a long time Companion Peggy Bonds of Lexington, 5 sons, Lance Butler of Tampa Fl, Eric Butler and his wife Sarah of Clemmons, NC, Peter Butler of Hamilton NJ, Brian Butler of Trenton, NJ and Sean Butler and his wife Cassie of Gainsville Fl. One daughter Kelly Gabard and her husband Stacy of Lexington, and three sisters are surviving, Anne Schactel of Long Island, NY, Joan Sepp of Bronx, NY, and Patricia Flanagan of Pearl River, NY. Three grandchildren Brittany Gossett, Calum Butler, and Rowan Butler. In Lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Tom Butler Memorial Fund, AmVets Post 13, Marco Blvd., Lexington, NC 27292
