Thelma Inez Trantham

Thelma Inez Swicegood Trantham, 90, of West Old Highway 64, died Friday July 14, 2017 at Alston Brook. Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday July 22, 2017 at Tyro United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Randy Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday July 21, 2017 at Piedmont Funeral Home. Mrs. Trantham was born in Davidson County on June 30, 1927 to the late Lemel Boone Swicegood and Florence Beck Swicegood. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “J.C.” Coleman Trantham, brothers, Hoyle Swicegood, Lawrence Swicegood and Jake Swicegood, sister, Elizabeth Swicegood Williams. Mrs. Trantham was retired from Stanley Furniture. Surviving are son, Ronald Coleman Trantham (Faye) of Lexington, daughter, Ann Trantham Gobble (Gary) of Lexington, grandchildren, David Trantham (Dawn), Darren Trantham and friend (Jennifer) of Lexington, Jeremy Gobble, Nick Gobble of Lexington, Heidi Priest (Aaron) of Carthage, great grandchildren, Gavin Trantham, Abner Priest and Elijah Priest, niece, Carol Padon (Joey) of Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tyro United Methodist Church,4484 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC 27295.
