Tammy Godwin Hutchens, 41, of Lorie Belle Lane died Monday, April 4, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health- Lexington Medical Center. She had been in declining health for five years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Tammy was born on March 21, 1970 in Davidson County to David Franklin and Betty West Godwin. She attended Davidson County Community College and Forsyth Technical Community College and was a former Certified Nursing Assistant with Piedmont Home Health. Her son, Jonathan David Godwin, preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, David Roger Hutchens of the home; a stepson, Jeff Hutchens and wife Idania of Charlotte; a step-daughter, Lisa Curry and husband Roy of Lexington; five step-grandchildren, Nolan Hutchens, Lucas Hutchens, Dylan Thompson, Logan Thompson, and Tyson Curry; two brothers, George Godwin and wife Tammy of Kings Mountain, NC, Mykel Waddel, and her parents all of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home.
