Loretta Evans, passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 77. She was born on August 3, 1949, in Gaston County to the late Walter and Wilma Kuykendall.

Throughout her life she was known for the quiet grace and devotion she brought to her home and family. Loretta was a homemaker, a role she filled with care, steadiness, and deep love. The work of making a home was at the heart of her life, and those who knew her understood the warmth and constancy she gave so freely. She also found joy in life’s simple and restorative pleasures, especially reading and trips to the beach, pursuits that reflected both her thoughtful nature and her appreciation for peace, beauty, and time well spent.

Loretta leaves behind a family who will cherish her memory with enduring love. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Hoyle (Jerry) and Lorie Loomis (Dana) . She is also survived by her brothers, Dennis Kuykendall, Gary Kuykendall, and David Kuykendall. Her grandchildren, Samantha, Justin, and Eric, were an important part of her life, and her legacy continues as well in her seven great-grandchildren, who add another generation to the family she held so dear.

Those who loved Loretta will remember a woman whose life was centered on family, comfort, and the lasting value of simple joys. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held Thursday September 17 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Piedmont Funeral Home in Lexington.
