Sue Foster Robbins

Mrs. Lydia Sue Foster Allen Robbins, age 94, a resident of Lexington Health Care, formerly of 200 Spruce Street, Lexington, died Friday, August 10, 2007 at 2:47 AM in Lexington Health Care. Funeral Services will be Sunday, August 12, 2007 at 3 PM in Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frankie Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Robbins was born in Davie County, NC on September 3, 1912 to the late Jessie Rynard and Carrie Sue Swicegood Foster. She was a former employee of Dixie Furniture and was a lifelong member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church. She loved to garden and work in her flowers. In addition to her parents preceding her in death were her first husband, Charles Ray Allen in 1958, and her second husband, William Clarence “Shorty” Robbins in 1995. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Gray Allen, 2 sisters, Sadie Rae Foster Godbe, and Gurla Foster White, five brothers, Dewey Foster, Arthur Foster, Odell Foster, Gilmer Foster and Dan Foster. She is survived by a son, Edwin Dale “Bubbie” Allen of Landis, a daughter, Sue Yvonne “Bonnie” Benoist of Lexington, a granddaughter, Tonia Yvonne Benoist Fehr, whom Mrs. Robbins, and William “Shorty” Robbins raised. Also surviving are nine other grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. The family will see friends Sunday from 2 PM until 2:45 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home.
