Spencer Bass Tripp Sr.

November 16, 1931 — June 2, 2025

Mr. Spencer Bass Tripp, Sr., 93, of Lexington passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his home on Monday, June 2, 2025. He was born November 16, 1931, in Tarboro, NC, (Edgecombe County) to John Ray and Mary Stokes Tripp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers John Tripp and Carl Tripp, and sisters Mary Stallings and Gaynell Tripp, and a granddaughter Candace Tripp Schultz.

He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and uncle. He was retired from PPG. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 74 years, Dorothy Koonts Tripp who was the love of his life, his “whole world”, and daughters Teresa Watkins (Skeeter) of Denton, Gloria Lanier (Ricky) and Cathy Everhart (Steve), and a son Spencer Tripp, Jr. (Missy), all of Lexington.

Also surviving are grandchildren Angela Cates, Tiffany Lawson, Danielle Watkins, Ashley Watkins, Travis Lanning, Jessica Lowe, Brandon Herr, Keri Tripp Lambert, Nathan Tripp, Haven Everhart, Bradley Everhart, Corey Everhart, Andrew Everhart, Ashley Pastrana, Bradley Allred, and 33 Great-Grandkids.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Joel Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at other times at the family home.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Hospice of Davidson County, Angela Cates, and Amanda Fulp for the special care they provided for Spencer.

Forever in our hearts, may he rest in the eternal peace of Christ.
