Sonia Marie Coleman Speir, 88, of South Highway 150, died Sunday morning, January 31, 2016 at Brookstone Retirement Center where she was a resident. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Kolb officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 until 2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Speir was born in Bull Creek, West Virginia on June 18, 1927 to the late McKinley Coleman and Violet Leigh Smith Coleman. She was retired employee of PPG Industries and was a member of Rolling Heights Faith Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband Leon Kincaid, and second husband James Speir; two sons, James Clark Kincaid and George Larry Kincaid; a sister, Judith Morris; and brother, Ray Coleman. Surviving are three sons, William Kincaid and wife Nancy of Lexington; Bruce Kincaid and wife Janice of Archdale; Tony Kincaid and wife Betty of Lexington; one daughter, Brenda Speir Kirkpatrick and husband Paul of Lexington; one daughter- in- law, Marsha Kincaid of Lexington; and one brother, Paul Coleman of Dalbarton, West Virginia. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
