Snowie Hilbourn Hammonds

Mrs. Snowie Hilbourn Hammonds, 91, a resident of Elizabeth Street, Lexington, died Friday, September 28, 2007, at 7: 00 AM, in Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 1, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home with Bishop Lonnie Daugherty officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Hammonds was born in Columbus County, NC on July 15, 1916 to the late Johnnie and Letha Edwards Hilbourn. She was a homemaker and was a member of Lexington Church of God. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Floyd Colon Hammonds. She is survived by two sons, Charles Hammonds and his wife, Patsy of Oak Island, NC, and Franklin Hammonds of Gastonia, NC, a brother, Hubert Hilbourn of Fair Bluff, NC, four sisters, Martha Lou Elliott of Nichols, SC, Reba Nobles, Mary Britt, and her husband, Willis and Rebecca Burch all of Lexington. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Frankie Hammonds of Charlotte, Tonya Hammonds of Charlotte, and Deborah Everhart, and her husband, Terry of Lexington. The family will receive friends Monday, from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
