Shirley Jean Skeen

Shirley Jean Marr Skeen,86, of NC Highway 8 passed away Tuesday at Davie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mocksville. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Salisbury National Cemetery. Shirley was born in Davidson County on July 1, 1937 to the late Wilfred Sherman and Lonnie Mae Bowers Marr. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Harrison Leon Skeen, sons Woodrow Dane Milton,and Robert Foyle Skeen,and brother, Alvin Marr. She was retired from PPG in Lexington and was of the Baptist faith. The two most important things in her life were her faith and her family, whom she loved to cook for. Surviving are her sons, Thomas Daryl Milton and wife Jennifer Lynn of Lexington, Mark Skeen and wife Alice of Lexington, Harrison Leon Skeen, Jr., sister, Dorothy Stack of Greenville, SC, grandchildren, Ryan Skeen, Kayla Skeen Collett, Brandon Milton, Logan Milton, Meghan Palmer, Tyler Robbins, Christopher Skeen, Audrey Skeen and Alea Skeen, great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Collett, Luke Collett and Rylynn Skeen.
