Shirley Carol Davis

Shirley Carol Potts Davis, 77, of Giles Road, died Wednesday August 30, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday September 2, 2017 at Reeds United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Barry Queen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 Pm Friday at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home on Giles Road. Shirley was born in Davidson County on October 30, 1939 to the late Grey Spencer Potts and Gussie Pressley Potts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Davis, son, Kelvin Lee Presnell, brother, Gilmer Grey Potts, nephew, Michael Potts, brother in law, Randy Prevette, special friend, Ray Everhart. She was in the Excelsior Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women at her church. She also served her church in other capacities. She was retired from National Wholesale. Shirley was one of the first Davidson County Hospice volunteers, delivered meals on wheels and was instrumental in starting the West Davidson Food Pantry and Clothes Closet. Surviving are her sisters, Patsy Flynn ( John ) of Lexington, Mary Etta Prevette of Lexington, grandson, Billy Lee Presnell, great grandchildren, Abby Presnell and Ayden Presnell, daughter in law, Ann Dunn (Gary) of Lexington, sister in law, Brenda Potts of Lexington, two special cousins, Sharon Leonard and Fonda Michael, several nieces and nephews. Special caregivers. Karmen Flynn, Sharon Leonard, Rashelle Morrison, Jennifer Bivens, Nikki Potts and Lynn Moody, special assistant caregiver Jaydin Rubio.
