Shirley Greene Brown

Shirley Greene Brown, 58, of Petrea Road, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, at her residence. The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Currytown Baptist Church, where she was a member, by Pastor Michael McDaniel. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church cemetery. Ms. Brown was born Dec. 31, 1947, in Watauga County to Burl Greene and Edna Reece Greene. She was a former employee of Old Dominion Freight Line and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class at her church. Surviving are one daughter, Shannon Finney of the home; two sisters, Shelia Fowler and her husband, Terry, of Lexington and Abbie Holder and her husband, Mike, of Asheboro; four brothers, Al Greene of Thomasville, Larry Green and his wife, Patricia, and Jerry Greene and his wife, Bobbie Jo, all of Lexington, and Burl Greene Jr. of Charleston, S.C.; and one granddaughter, Louisa James. The family will receive friends from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church and other times at the residence.
