Sarah Sharpe Wilson

Mrs. Sarah Sharpe Wilson, 90, of Swicegood Road passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at The Laurels of Salisbury.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Wayne Sechrest and Chaplain Chris Henson.  The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.  Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Wilson was born on November 17, 1934, in Washington, DC to the late Oscar Sharpe, Jr. and Joann Bowers Sharpe.   She was a graduate from Boyden High School in Salisbury, North Carolina, Class of 1954.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Thomas “Jim” Wilson, son, Edward C. Wilson, an unborn son, and brother, David Sharpe.  She was a member of Rolling Heights Faith Baptist Church and the Women’s Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Wilson was the epitome of a loving caretaker.  She cared for her brother and son for many years, as well as members in her community.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas “Tommy” Wilson and wife Brenda of Lexington and grandson Thomas Cody Wilson, as well as much loved nieces and nephews.
