Sarah Frances Copple

Sarah Frances Giles Copple, 86, of West Ten Road, Efland, NC, passed away Saturday evening, June 25, 2022 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday at Beulah United Church of Christ. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church, with burial following in the church cemetery. Mrs. Copple was born November 11, 1935 in Davidson County to the late W.J. and Ruth Leonard Giles. She graduated from Reeds High School and later obtained a nursing degree. She retired from nursing after 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husbands Odell Poole, Charles Shoaf, and Charlie Copple (Ray); brothers Billy Giles and wife Ruth, Alfred Giles and wife Shirley, and Dermont Giles and wife Bonnie; sister Irene Giles; and sons-in-law Ted W. Leonard and Roy Gray. Surviving are son Walter Shoaf and wife JoAnn of Salisbury; daughters Bessie Shoaf Bean and husband Anthony of Efland, Elaine Poole Leonard and Angela Shoaf and husband Kevin all of Lexington. Also surviving are grandchildren Shelia Holdway (Jason), Stephanie Bailey (David), “Crickett” Freeman (Bryan), David Leonard (Billy), Charles Holder (Heather), Alexander Holder (Crystal), Crystal Albright (Stephen), Caitlyn Holder (Chris), Christopher May (Cassandra), Blake Shoaf, Hannah Shoaf, Joe Gray, Sarah Brunt (Stuart) and Ka Cee Elliot; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother Bobby Giles of Lexington; and many nieces and nephews.
