Sally Poole

Dorothy “Sally” Everhart Harris Poole, 96, formerly of W. 5th Street, died Saturday at Alston Brook in Lexington. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 7 at New Testament Baptist Church, by the Revs. Dr. Robert Floyd and Jimmy Greene. A private burial will be held at Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church. Mrs. Poole was born July 16, 1917 in Davidson County to John and Triffie Leatherman Everhart. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church. Her husbands, Bethel Harris and Horace C. Poole, preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, Meade Everhart, Emory Everhart, Snag Everhart, and Joe Everhart. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Sink and husband, Irvin, of Lexington; her grandchildren, Judi McCulloch, Mia Shoaf, and Webb McCulloch and wife Anna; her step-grandson, Zack Sink; her great grandchildren, Logan Shoaf, Paydon Shoaf, Myers McCulloch, Jack McCulloch, and Isla Sink; and a special friend, Mona Miller of Asheboro. Memorials may be made to New Testament Baptist Church, 3591 Old Linwood Road, Lexington NC 27292. The family would like to thank the staff of Alston Brook for their love and support over the last few years.
