Sally Mae Johnston, age 85, formerly of Aurora, Colorado, completed her earthly journey on January 1, 2021 at Accordius Health of Lexington. There will be no public visitation and no services are scheduled. Sally was born on August 11, 1935 in Denver, Colorado to Jose Benjamin and Ruth (Pena) Acosta of Colorado. Sally was a long time member of the Colorado Deaf and Blind community and graduated from the Colorado Deaf and Blind School in Colorado Springs, CO. She loved to paint ceramics, make doilies, coasters, dish towels, placemats, and scrapbooks. She was preceded in death by her spouse Edward Johnston of Colorado in 2009. She is survived by six sons: Robert Salazar (Loretta) of Washington state, Matthew, Dave, Ronnie, and Tommy (Karen) of Colorado, and Danny Salazar of California. Also surviving are six sisters: Margaret Solano (Dale), and Beatrice Brown all of Colorado; Elodia Acosta of Florida, Veronica Hagberg (Peter) of California, Mary Sanchez and Lucy Daniels of North Carolina; brothers Adrian, Steve, and Michael Acosta, and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
