Sallie Wooten

Sallie Ledford Wooten, Age 87, a resident of Cow Palace Road, Lexington, NC died 5:52 AM Tuesday December 29, 2009 at Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday December 31, 2009 at East End Baptist Church, with Rev. Tim Gainey and Rev. Jerry Bowen, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Wooten was born July 31, 1922 in Macon County to Charlie E. Ledford and Pearl Stamey Ledford. She was a retired employee of Carolina Underware and a member of East End Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Adam Wooten; 1 son, Ronnie Wooten; 1 daughter, Andrea Wooten; 3 brothers, Dean Ledford, Charlie Ledford and George Allen Ledford; 1 sister, Bertie Mae Vinson and 1 Great Grandchild Surviving are one son, William “Billy” Wooten and wife Brenda of Lexington; two daughters, Gail Meredith and husband Darrell of Winston Salem, NC and Carol Glover and husband Jim “Eddie” of Denton.; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, John Ledford and Jimmy Ledford both of Franklin, NC; two sisters, Ruby Seaborne of Norris, SC and Rachel Gunter of Lexington, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday December 30, 2009 at Piedmont Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Gina Sink, 1180 Petrea Road, Lexington.
