Sadie Katherine Brown

Sadie Katherine Brown, 88, of the Churchland community died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Piedmont Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Belcher Cemetery in Coldale, West Virginia with the Rev. Darrell Christian officiating. Mrs. Brown was born in Cherokee County, North Carolina on September 11, 1923 to the late Edward Martin and Laura Jane Carter Earwood. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Brown; brothers, Franklin and John Earwood; sisters, Irene Cagle and Mary Jane Earwood. Surviving are her son, Carl D. Brown and wife Amy of Churchland and grandchildren, Tanya Brown and husband Steven, and Kathern Brown. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Lilly and Sissy.Sister in law Alein Perkins of West Virginia.
