Ruth Greene Solesbee

Nora Ruth Greene Solesbee, age 82, a resident of Pete Barnes Road, Lexington, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 in Lexington Health Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday from the Smith Grove Baptist Church where she was a member, with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Solesbee was born in Jackson County, NC on October 6, 1925, daughter of the late George Alonzo Green and Nora Brown Green. She was Wife, Mother and GranGran. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Marion Stanley Solesbee, who died in 1994, brothers, Ralph Greene, Bud Green, J. B. Green, and Seymour Green. Surviving are her son, Greg Solesbee and his wife, Margaret of Wittman, AZ; three daughters, Dru Ferrence and her husband, Fred of Nags Head, NC; Diana Parker and her husband, Don of Lexington; and Kay Moss and her husband, Barry of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Reba Jones and her husband, Felix of Sylva, NC; a brother, Pritchard Greene of Sylva, NC, a brother in law, Charles Solesbee of Hendersonville, NC. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Erle Solesbee and his wife, Julie, Jeff Ferrence, Stephanie Ferrence Davis and her husband, Bill, Neal Parker, Graham Parker, Byron Parker, and Adam Moss, her great grandchildren, Ethan Solesbee, Zakary Solesbee, and Sara Davis. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home of her daughter, Diana Parker, 174 Pete Barnes Road, Lexington. The family would like to say a special thank you to her extended family at the Life Center of Davidson County, who was a partner with her care for five years and to Lexington Health Care Center, who cared for her for the past five months.
