Ruth Jones Livengood

Mary Ruth Jones Livengood, age 93, a resident of Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation for Lexington, formerly of Wilson road, Linwood, died at 4:00 AM on Friday, July 13, 2007 in Sunbridge. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 15, 2007 from the Smith Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Livengood was born in Davie County, NC on December 15, 1913 to the late George and Lula Hendrix Jones. She was a retired employee of R.W. Normans of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband of 56 years, James J. Livengood, four sisters, Ella Barnes, Inez Everhart, Sue Beck, and Irene Transou, two brothers, Frank Jones and George R. Jones. Surviving are a son, Dr. Charles Livengood, and his wife, Mary of Raleigh;, a daughter, Marjorie Everhart of Linwood;, a brother, Roy Jones and his wife, Pauline of Reedy Creek;, two sisters, Burnell Weaver of Reedy Creek;, and Willie Vae Everhart, and her husband, Glenn of Lexington. Also surviving are four grandchildren, William Hege, Phyllis Cooper, Melissa Circelli, and Jill Liles, four great grandchildren, Jessica Norton, Ryan Circelli, Robyn Circelli, and Ricky Circelli, a special friend, Paul “Pee Wee” Brewer of Lexington. The family will receive friends Saturday at Piedmont Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM and other times will be at the home of the daughter, Marjorie Everhart, 185 Wilson Road.
