Ruth Shoaf Lambeth

Ruth Dare Shoaf Lambeth, 81, of Carolina House, formerly of Walser Lane, Lexington, died Friday afternoon, September 2, 2011 at Carolina House. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.Dr. David Ambroso and her granddaughter, the Rev. Misty Polston York officiating. Burial will follow in Paul's Chapel United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home and at other times at the home of the daughter,Debbie Polston, 186 Walser Lane. Mrs. Lambeth was born in Davidson County April 22,1930 to Baxter and Lillian Reid Shoaf. She was a graduate of Arcadia High School and attended Ashemore Business College. Ruth was a member of Paul's Chapel United Church of Christ. She was retired from PPG Industries and was a member of the Lexington Business and Professional Women. She was prededed in death by her parents; four brothers, Reid Shoaf, Russell Shoaf, Woodrow Shoaf and Hulin Shoaf; two sisters,Lula Walser and Letha Walser. Surviving are one daughter Debbie Polston and husband Frank; one son David Lambeth and companion Dawn Sheffer; two grandchildren Travis Lambeth and Misty Polston York and husband Howard; two great- granddaughters ,Alana and Arabella York; three sisters, Odessa Shoaf, Aileen Craver, and Elsie Leonard; one step-son, Charlie Lambeth; and step-grandchild, Megan Lambeth. The family expresses its' sincere gratitude to the Alzheimer's Staff at Carolina House for their support and loving care.
