Ruby Jarrett Mazoo

Mrs. Ruby Lorene Chappell Jarrett Mazoo, 83, of Brookstone Nursing Center, died Wednesday at the nursing center after declining health for three months. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Bobby Sparks officiating. Mrs. Mazoo was born August 15, 1926 in Yadkin County to Dallas Jones Chappell and Cora Holcomb Chappell. She lived most of her life in Thomasville and retired from Liberty House Nursing Home. Her husband, C.J. Jarrett, preceded her in death, as well as her son, Terry Wayne Jarrett; her daughter, Dixie Belinda Shaw; her brothers, Harley Chappell, Earnest Chappell, and Leo Chappell, who was her twin; and her sisters, Margaret Savage and Mozelle Dennis. Surviving are her son, Tim Jarrett and wife, Sandra, of Lexington; her grandchildren, Angela Marsh, and husband, Travis, of Thomasville, and Mitzi Beasley and husband, Shannon, of Shallotte; and seven great grandchildren. There will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1132, Fairfax VA 22038. The family would like to thank Brookstone Nursing Center for all of their love and care of Mrs. Mazoo during her stay of more than 12 years.
