Roy Edward Thompson

Roy Edward Thompson, 70, of Hackney St., died Sunday at his home. A service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, with the Rev. Gene Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 – 1:45 PM Wednesday at Piedmont Funeral Home. Roy was born in Davidson County on March 2, 1943 to the late Clarence LeRoy Thompson and Velna Mary Byerly Thompson. He was formerly employed with PPG and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Koonts Thompson of the home; son, Roy Dean Thompson of Denton; daughter, Linda Ann Stone of Adel,Ga.; brother, Rev.Gene Thompson of Lexington; grandchildren, Harley and Chance Thompson.
