Roy Lee Beck

Roy Lee Samuel Beck,97, of West Old Highway 64, died Thursday morning at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 15, 2014 at Reeds Baptist Church where he was a member, with the Rev. Henry Watterson and the Rev. Jerry Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors provided by the Davidson County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday at Piedmont Funeral Home other times at the home of Ronald Beck. Mr. Beck was born in Davidson County on June 21, 1917 to the late Avery Walter Beck and Sillie Lanning Beck. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Treva Myers Beck and daughter in law Ruby Beck. He was an Army Veteran. Surviving are his wife, Grace Hendricks Beck, sons, Rev. Jerry Beck of Tar Heel, NC; Ronald Beck (Beverly) of Lexington; Don Lanier (Gwen) of Fork; Dennis Lanier (Becky) of Lexington; daughters, Carol Whitaker (Gary) of Lexington and Judy Koontz (Franklin) of Churchland; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
