Roger Duane Miller, 67 of Zach Circle, died Sunday March 2,2014 at his home. To remember Roger’s life, the family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Amvets Post 76, 5596 Old US Hwy. 52, in Welcome. A memorial inurnment service will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at The Salisbury National Cemetery Columbarium with a military chaplain officiating. Military Honors will be provided by The Davidson County Honor Guard. Roger was born August 18, 1946 in Jamestown, NY to the late Dorothy Klien Miller. A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he worked in several art metal manufacturing plants in Lakewood, NY and was superintendent of buildings and grounds for the Panama Central School District before moving to Lexington in 1988. He retired as a machinist with Tubular Textile Machinery. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post 8, and Amvets Post 39. He loved all his friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Preceding him in death was a brother, Robert Klien. Surviving are son Roger John Miller and daughter Anna Maria Lane both of Clinton, Il; sister Sharon Klien of Jamestown, NY; grandchildren Sera and Alissa Lane; and life partner, Wanda Rupert of Lexington.
