Roger Vestal Hepler, 58, of 240 Abbid Street passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2006. He had been ill for 37 days and died of heart complications. Born December 17, 1947, in Davidson County, he was the son of the late Vestal L. and Catherine W. Hepler. His was a vibrant personality that never saw a stranger, was full of humor and laughter, and was never still-always moving. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. As a heavy equipment operator, he worked for Dixie Grading and Equipment Company. Roger is survived by his wife, Sandra “Sally” Pickett of Lexington; daughter, Lea Menius of Mt. Pleasant; son, Bradley Hepler of Lexington; stepson, Keith Pickett of Lexington; sister, Elizabeth “Lee” King of Charlotte; niece, Linda Sorochinski of Charlotte; four grandchildren and many friends. A memorial to celebrate his life will be at Cotton Grove United Methodist Church Sunday, August 27 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ed Armfield, Jr. presiding.
