Robie B. Koonts

      Mr. Robie Bryant Koonts, 81, of Reedy Creek Road, died Friday, March 09, 2018 at The Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC.   Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday March 14, 2018  at Union Grove Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member, with Pastor Ken Harris, Pastor T.W. Bailey and Dr. Harold Fletcher officiating. Burial will follow in Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Piedmont Funeral Home.   Mr. Koonts was born in Davidson County on June 29, 1936 to the late Robah Koonts and Lena Biesecker Koonts. He was a retired brick mason and self employed construction worker, He owned and operated Robie’s Bobcat Service and was a member of the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by  brothers,  Rudolph Koonts, Tommy Koonts and Bob Koonts.   Surviving are his wife, Jane Younts Koonts of the home, sons, Gregory N Koonts (Cathy) of Lexington, Vernon B. Koonts of Atlanta, Ga., brothers, Gray Koonts, Ferrell Koonts and Jakie Koonts all of Lexington.   Memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 2295 Union Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27295, or to, Kate B.
