Robert Newton Yarborough, 71, of S. NC Highway 150, Lexington, died May 20, 2009 in Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Reeds Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dave Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Yarborough was born in Davidson County on January 5, 1938 to the late Walter Graves Yarborough and Hattie Craver Yarborough. He was retired employee of Roadway Express and was a member of Reeds Baptist Church. He enjoyed walking the track at Reeds Baptist Church, and riding his stationary bike. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were five brothers, Hiram, James, Dan, Walter, and Gordon Yarborough, and two sisters Matilda Adams and Nancy Trogden. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Myers Yarborough of the home, two sons, Cory Yarborough of Lexington, and Bobby Yarborough of Greensboro, his brother, Bill Yarborough and his wife Betty of High Point, two sisters, Charlotte Tuttle of Rural Hall and Alice Ingram of High Point, two grandchildren, Dakotah Morrison and Emily Cammer. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home, S NC Highway 150. Memorials in Mr. Yarborough’s memory may be made to Reeds Baptist Church, 180 Reeds Baptist Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295
