Robert Johnny Parker 79 of Briggs Rd. died Sunday March 6,2011 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday March 9,2011 at Mountain View Baptist Church where he was a member with the Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Parker was born August 8, 1931 to the late Johnny Richard Parker and Bessie Mae Tysinger Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Tammy Parker, brother; Irvin Parker, sister; Grace Parker. He was a retired truck driver for Kepley and Frank Hardwoods Company. He loved spending time outdoors, gardening and camping with his grandchildren. Surviving are wife; Mae Dabbs Parker of the home, sons; Eddie Parker and wife Debra and Tim Parker and wife Teresa of Lexington, daughter; Lorraine Sowers and husband Jonathan of Linwood, brothers; Clyde Parker and wife Imogene of Linwood, Tommy Parker and wife Vea of Lexington , grandchildren; Brad Parker, Holly Parker , Tammy Pipkin, Sharon Barnett, Gene York, great grandchildren; Summer Pipkin, Ginger Pipkin, Hannah Beach, Hunter Burgett. Family will receive friends fron 6-8 P.M. Tuesday March 8, 2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials may be made to: Mountain View Baptist Church building fund 407 Mountain View Church Rd. Lexington ,NC 27292. Special thanks to the staff at Mountain View Health Care.
