Robert Lee Overla

Robert Lee Overla, 71, of South NC Hwy. 150, Churchland community, died Tuesday at his home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 20, 2014 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park, with military honors provided by the Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Overla was born in Lansing, Michigan May 5, 1943 to the late Joseph C. Overla and Mary Elaine Wilson Overla. He was a US Navy Veteran and employed at Spec Con Systems for over 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and son- in- law, Michael Turner, Sr. Surviving are his wife, Terry Wyatt Overla of the home; daughters, Marie Overla Turner of Linwood and Marilyn Overla Wilhelms and husband Chad of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Brandt Yokeley, Stephanie Turner King and husband Mark, Aaron Walser and Daniel Walser; great- grandchild, Jaiden Yokeley; and brother James Overla of Salisbury.
