Robert Lee “Bob” Mauldin, 86 of Sandalwood Court, died Monday at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday at Victory Baptist Church, where he was a member with the Rev. Jeff Mabe and the Rev. Roy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial park. Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home. Robert was born in Stanly County on July 18,1927 to the late Milas Eugene Mauldin and Grace Kimery Mauldin. He was a retired employee of PPG and was a veteran of the US Army, where he served as gun crewman light artillery. He was also a life time member of VFW group 3074. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mazie C. Mauldin. Surviving are his wife, Bettie Hutchins Mauldin of the home; son, Danny L. Mauldin and fiancé Linda Ingram of Lexington; step son, Tim Hutchins of Lexington; daughters, Shirley Stanford and husband Robert of Lexington; Tonja Robins and husband Kevin of Denton; grandchildren, Robert L. Mauldin and Brian K. Mauldin both of Myrtle Beach; Danny L. Mauldin,Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla. And Mandy L. Mauldin of Lexington; eight great grandchildren.
