Robert Lee “Bob” Koonts 77 of Spruce St. died Monday, December 5, 2011 at Hinkle Hospice House. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 9 ,2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lewis Johns officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Piedmont Funeral Home. Mr. Koonts was born October 18, 1934 in Davidson County to the late Robar and Mittie Biesecker Koonts, He was employed by Piedmont Funeral Home for 35 years. He was in the National Guard for 25 years. He loved fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Patsy L. Koonts, and brother Tommy Koonts. Surviving are wife Joanne Conrad Koonts of the home, son Robert Lee “Robbie” Koonts and wife Tiffany of Lexington, daughters Cynthia Koonts Young and Pamela Koonts Moody and her husband Bruce of Lexington. Step sons; Ken Jackson of Alvin,Tx., Matthew Meadows of Wake Forest, step daughter ; Kimberly Gaffney of Rock Hill,S.C.Brothers W. R. Koonts, Robie Koonts and wife Jane, Jakie Koonts and wife Lois, Gray Koonts and wife Sonja and Ferrel Koonts all of Lexington, sister- in- law Frances Koonts of Lexington. Grandchildren Ali Koonts,Morgan Koonts, Emily Moody, Kalyn Moody, Christopher Moody and wife Jenny, Jordan Chapman and husband Alex, step grandchildren; Daniel and Alex Gaffney, Leigh Ann Evans, Steven Jackson and Isac Meadows, Great- grandchildren Bradley Moody and Ethan Moody.
