Rilma W. Gobble

Rilma Wood Gobble, 95, formerly of West Old Hwy 64, Reeds, NC, living in North Myrtle Beach, SC went home to be with her Lord on Monday evening, March 27, 2017. She was born on Monday, June 6, 1921 to the late Pearl Hartley Wood and Thomas A. Wood, and was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Lonnie Cyrus Gobble, four sisters, Annie Davis, Christine Mallard, Margaree Law, and Rebecca Gobble, and four brothers, Add Wood, Ervin Wood, Tommy Wood, and Jimmy Wood. Surviving is a daughter, Kaye Gobble Furr and husband Victor T. Furr of SC, and two grandchildren, Chris T. Furr and Wendy F. Marion and husband Rev. Patrick Marion, and two great- grandchildren, Carson A. Marion, and C. Garrett Marion and wife Courtney Marion, and one very special great-great grandchild, Grayson Alexander Marion, all of Lexington, NC. Mrs. Gobble was an active member of Reeds United Methodist Church for more than 75 years and in the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She loved visiting with family and friends from her church and her time as a member of the Reeds Garden Club, often taking them flowers and one of her coconut pies. Another very special past time was being outdoors, pulling weeds, trimming bushes and planting azaleas. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 31, at Reeds United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends with a reception immediately after in the Fellowship Hall.
