Richard Biddle Hooker, 69, of Stuart, Florida, passed away Thursday evening, April 26, 2012 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart Florida. His graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington, NC, with celebration to follow. Rev James Bailey will be officiating. Mr Hooker was born December 26, 1942, in St Augustine, Florida to Emerson "Ed" and Margaret "Peggy" Hooker. Rick moved to Lexington in 1950 and went on to attended Lexington Senior High School & later Wake Forest University. He served as Vice President of Metal Bed Rail before moving to Hickory Springs as national salesman for 33 years where he was awarded the ISPA Suppliers Council Robert MacMorran Memorial Award. Rick was a mainstay on the High Rock Lake scene where he was a founding member of The Sons of Southmont. Rick had a very fulfilling life doing the things he loved: boating, golfing, fishing, driving race cars and traveling around the country. Surviving are wife Linda Hooker of Stuart, Fl, brother Joe Hooker of Stuart, Fl, Daughter Stephanie Hooker Plemmons and husband Doug of Asheville, NC, son Alex Hooker and wife Chanel Frisco of Boone, NC, grandchildren, Gus Plemmons & Claudia Hooker and nephew Christopher Hooker of Charlotte, NC.
