Rev. Henry Griscom Thompson

Rev. Henry Griscom Thompson, 71 of Giles Road, died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, after declining health. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 11, at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, with the Rev. Roy Franks officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8, Friday at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mr. Thompson was born November 25, 1940 in Davidson County to the late James Clark Thompson and Ida Bell Giles Thompson. Also preceding him in death was one brother Walter Thompson . Mr. Thompson was a retired Baptist Minister, after serving as minister of Yadkin Baptist Church for 13 years.. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Jeanette Goss Thompson of the home, son, Henry Allen Thompson of Sophia; 2 brothers James L. Thompson and William Johnson Thompson all of Lexington; 2 sisters, Bessie Harper of Lexington and Shelia Jacobs of Greenville, NC. Also surviving are five grandchildren.
