Reginald Ball

Reginald Edward “Reggie” Ball, 69, of South NC Hwy 150, Linwood, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at his home. The funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday January 20, 2010, at Smith Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday January 19, 2010 at Piedmont Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home. Mr. Ball was born March 10, 1940 in Lucas County, Ohio, to Reginald Anderson Ball and Nina Elizabeth Ball. Reginald served in the US Army and was a retired employee of PPG Industries. He was a former member of the Churchland Volunteer Fire Department. Reginald and his family cherished the moments they shared with nature camping in the North Carolina mountains especially at their mountain home. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Orrell Ball of the home; two sons, Reggie Edward “Eddie” Ball and wife Sandra of Welcome, Kris Ball and wife Cathy of Churchland; one daughter, Barbie Readling and husband Steve of Mooresville, NC; ten grandchildren, Zach Ball, Courtney Ball, Jenny Simerson, Cody Simerson, Steven Readling, Shelly Readling, Logan Readling, Dawson Readling, Faith Readling and Dusty Readling; one sister, Judy Yeater and husband Gary of Salisbury, NC.
