Raymond James “Woody” Wood, 80, a resident of Redwine Street, Lexington, NC died Sunday, July 13, 2008 in Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after a serious illness of one month. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in Rolling Heights Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Sechrest and Rev. Bobby Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. James was born in Forsyth County, NC on November 28, 1927 to Raymond Albert Wood and Bessie Tickle Wood. He was a former employee of Dixie Furniture Company. He was a member of Rolling Heights Faith Baptist Church were he had served as Trustee and Usher. James is survived by his wife, Kathleen Prince Wood of the home. Nephews they raised, Nathan Freedle and Manuel Houck both of the home. One brother Donald Wood and wife Diane of Salisbury; Two sisters, Betty Myers of Welcome and Margie Anderson and husband Aden of Lexington. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home on Redwine Street.
