Raymond Lohr Hunt

November 28, 1939 — December 6, 2023

Raymond Lohr Hunt, a devoted man of God and a beloved family man, departed this world on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and cherished memories.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life at 4 pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Piedmont Funeral Home, Timerlake Chapel. Pastor Roy Franks will officiate the service, and friends are invited to join the family for a time of remembrance at the funeral home following the ceremony.

Raymond was born on November 28, 1939, in Davidson County to Everette Roosevelt Hunt and Lillie Mae Donathan Hunt. He grew up surrounded by the love and warmth of a close-knit family. Raymond was a man of strong faith, and his love for God was evident in the way he lived his life. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering moral compass left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Hunt, and George Hunt. Despite the pain of these losses, Raymond carried on with resilience and continued to be a source of strength for those around him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Sarah Bruff Hunt, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared moments. Raymond's devotion extended to his children: Tina Fox (James), Ricky Hunt (Aleisha Thompson), and Janet Greene (Delmer). His influence and guidance shaped their lives, instilling in them the values of family, faith, and compassion. Raymond was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. His legacy will live on through the family he cherished.

Piedmont Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Hunt family during this difficult time.

As we mourn the loss of Raymond Lohr Hunt, let us also celebrate the richness of his life and the enduring impact he had on those fortunate enough to share in his journey. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of the Heavenly Father he served so faithfully.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The American Foundation For The Blind at afb.org.
